Comparatie intre sistemul DVB-C2 si sistemul DVB-C

Rezumat: Standardele DVB-C si DVB-C2 prezinta un sistem pentru transmisia semnalului video de inalta calitate prin retelele de cablu. Standardul DVB-C a fost publicat prima data de catre ETSI in 1994. In 2007 a inceput activitatea pentru crearea unui standard de generatia a doua, DVB-C2. Acest standard a fost dezvoltat in mod oficial in anii 2008 si 2009. Scopul articolului este de a realiza o scurta prezentare a sistemului DVB-C si a sistemului DVBC2 si o comparatie intre aceste sisteme. Printre caracteristicile principale de performanta ale DVB-C2 sunt: eficienta spectrului cu 30% mai mare fata de DVB-C si capacitate mai mare cu 60% fata de DVB-C pentru retele optimizate HFC. Sistemul DVB-C2 este utilizat pentru oferirea de servicii noi precum video la cerere (VoD) si televiziune de inalta definitie (HDTV).

Abstract: DVB-C and DVB-C2 standards present a system for deliver high quality video signal through the cable networks. The DVB-C standard was first published by the ETSI în 1994. În 2007 started the work for creation of a second generation standard, DVB-C2. This standard was formally developed during 2008 and 2009. The purpose of the paper is to realise a short presentation of DVB-C system and DVB-C2 system and a comparison between these systems. Among the key performance features of DVB-C2 are: 30% more spectrum efficiency from DVB-C and 60% higher capacity from DVB-C for optimized HFC networks. DVB-C2 system is used for the delivery of new services, such as video-on-demand (VoD) and high definition television (HDTV).
