Abstract: A micro combined heat and power (μCHP) device using a gas Stirling engine has been tested in the laboratory of INSA STRASBOURG. This μCHP device is composed of an auxiliary boiler arranged in series and downstream of the Stirling engine. A numerical model predicting the energy performances of the Stirling engine and the auxiliary boiler has been implemented and calibrated with experimental studies. This model has been programmed in TRNSYS environment. Optimization studies have been carried out in order to assess the impact of the storage sizing and the control strategies on energy performances and economic relevance of these systems. The first results show that the control strategy and the hydraulic configuration have a strong influence on the μCHP device performances
